Here is what you need to know to order replacement bulbs for your tanning bed:
First, you need to know the type of lamp you have, which is usually, 90% of the time, a 100 watt, F71 type with bi-pin connectors on the ends. The F71 lamp is 69 3/8" long when measured from metal cap to cap.
This is the MOST COMMON home tanning bed replacement lamp and you can choose from many different manufacturers and models as long as they are 100 watt!

These Real Sun model lamps above are 7.5% UVB (the active ingredient in tanning bed bulbs) and are equivalent to Wolff Velocity, Light Sources Midday Sun, and any other lamp which has a 7.5% UVB. This is a GREAT lamp for the home because of it's "all-around" combination of reddening and bronzing effects and it's not too hot for friends or family who do not tan often. You can upgrade/downgrade to a 5.0% and 8.5% UVB lamp below for $1 more per bulb but I must caution against this unless only skin type 4 people will be using the tanning device!

You may also have a F72 type lamp which will have a black rectangular connector on the end. You will know the difference between a F71 and F72 when you identify the socket connector. The F72 type bulb is 69 1/8" long from metal cap to metal cap. The rare F73 lamp is 70 1/8" long from cap to cap. Below are the lamps we offer in these common configurations.

If you do not know the last time the starters have been replaced, or if your lamps are slow to fire completely up, then you need new starters. We feel so strongly about replacing starters at every lamp change we include them in the packages you see above at almost free prices!
Finally, if you REALLY want to know when to change your lamps, use a UV
Light Meter! That's right, instead of guessing there is a device which reads in UV light and gives you and indications of declining lamp output. When you first buy a new tanning bed or replace your bulbs, then you measure and record the meter reading when the lamps are new and "fresh". Then, over time, you can measure the lamp output and see how the power has degraded. Lamp replacement is recommended when the lamp output is 70% of the original value. We found this to be around 700 hours on most lamps! $145

What if you want HOTTER lamps or bulbs? The first lamp listed (Real Sun XX) is the most common replacement bulb and is compatible with Wolff Belarium Tanning System lamps and many other 20 min max exposure lamps with a 5.0 UVB rating. If you own a home tanning bed this is the lamp you want to buy. For a hotter lamp try the XXX, max exposure 15 mins per session. Here is our full compatibility chart but do not let this confuse you!

IMPORTANT NOTE REGARDING REPLACING TANNING BED LAMPS: You must stay consistent with the wattage of the lamp because the ballast's wattage must match the lamp's wattage for proper operation. Therefore, you can put any 100 watt lamp in your tanning bed if you have 100 watt ballasts, UNLESS your state is regulated and they need to be "compatible" with the manufacturer's original lamps and a compatibility chart must be on file and presented upon inspection from the state health department.
